My monthly visitor

 My Monthly Visitor

Have you met the monthly guest?

She arrives unannounced, catching you off guard,

Yet, strangely, you're always expecting her.

Panic arises when she's absent,

A reminder, perhaps, of your indiscretions.

Despite your frown at her arrival,

You secretly pray for her presence.

And so it unfolds,

In the springtime,

Love lingering in the air,

My face concealed by a mask.

Here she is, my beloved visitor,

Unlike others, she enters without a knock,

Unrestricted access, unless my abode is unkempt.

And so it transpires,

On this particular day,

She graces me with her presence,

Unrestricted as always_ she's welcome.

I, her host, nonchalant,

Until she announces herself,

A stamp on my door,

"Oh, you're here. Didn't notice.

When you're done, please leave."

But for now, enjoy your stay,

As you know, I'm indifferent,

Inform me if discomfort arises,

Or depart, returning at your whim.

Such is my courtesy as your host.
